Blessings

Tommy: Did you hear I finally graduated?
Richard Hayden: Yeah, and just a shade under a decade too. All right.
Tommy: You know a lot of people go to college for seven years.
Richard Hayden: I know, they're called doctors.

It seems like Erek has been in school forever. Yeah, probably 7 years. Yet, we can see the light. Erek will be graduating with his Bachelors this May - Yay! He has applied for graduate school in Speech Pathology for the fall, but up until this last week graduate school was looking pretty dim. It is a small program and over the last year or so it is getting very competitive. He applied to 6 schools total and was only was put on the wait-list at the University of Utah.
This past week, he met with one of his Professors. She offered him a spot in the Audiology Doctoral Program. They also offered him a scholarship and a part time job in the program. She told him that she and the other faculty believe that he has so much that he could offer this program and the field of Audiology. We were shocked that they would take the time to consider him and go so far to help him be able to join their program. We are so grateful for this chance. We know this is a blessing that things worked out this way. It has been so hard to go through all the not knowing and rejection, but I know we needed to learn a little patience and just have faith that things will work out in the end. I thank God for guiding us through this and watching over us.
So yeah, we will have another 4 years more of schooling, but this is our life. Life is good. We are blessed. We look forward to the new challenges and adventures. Way to go Erek, we are so proud of you!
