Get-Away (no. 1)

Last weekend, the Kids and I had the chance to get out of the cold up here in the valley and head south for a few days. We traveled down to St. George for a couple of night and then to Las Vegas for a couple more. My parents had their condo in St. George and had already been done there for the week, along with Julie and Eliza. Erek has been so busy with school, he just didn't think it would be wise to leave right now, so he had to stay home. We missed him a ton but we still enjoyed the Sunshine.

We drove down on Thursday, when we arrived it was a nice 50 degrees or so in St. George. It was nice the kids were very good for the long ride but were so ready to play the minute we arrived.

Friday, was the warmest day of our trip, it was in the upper 60's and so nice out. We all went for a nice walk on one of the parkways in town. It is so pretty out there. I love red rocks and so do the kids. They wanted to climb on everything and had get pictures each time. We were on the walk for maybe an hour and we found a way to take 50+ pictures.

The boys really wanted to climb on this rock because it had that cave that went up from where we are sitting. It was really cool. The picture makes it seem like it is really far away and we are high up but it really wasn't that high.

Of course my kids love to swim, who doesn't? They were so excited to go swimming. It was a little chilly when you weren't in the slightly heated pool. But I know they would never admit they were cold. The kids did so good swimming. They even did a couple tricky-est tricks that we video taped for dad.

Piano

Last week Jaycob had his first Piano Recital. He has been taking Piano lessons for almost 2 years now (wow that it crazy). He has had a couple different teachers, but has really learned so much. He is really good at playing, he has a great ability to memorize it quickly and has taught him self by just listening to it. One of his favorite songs to play is Scarborough Fair. Our key board that he practices on will play it and show you the keys, and he has learned it. Bella also loves this song she will dance around the room to it, it is very cute.

At the recital Jaycob was very nervous but he did awesome. He played very calm and slow. He preformed 2 numbers, 1st Robots Marching and 2nd Legend. I hope he really keeps going in his lessons, he is very talented. Jaycob we are so proud of you!

Love

(I know this post is a bit late but its been another busy month for us.)
We had a wonderful Valentines day! I was actually really excited it was on a Sunday and both Erek and I had the day off. That is something that is very rare these days. But it was so nice to have a relaxing day at home together.

I got an idea a week or so before Valentines to get some fortune cookies for the kids and hide my own little notes in them. I was really excited but then as the days got closer I didn't have time to try and figure out where to buy them. So I found a recipe online and thought I would give it a try. The recipe is actually really simple but it is the folding skills that I quickly learned is something that comes with much practice. I will have to try this recipe out again in future. In the end I am very happy with the way they turned out. The Kids were excited to eat them but they did tell me they didn't taste quite as good as the ones at the restaurant, but it was still fun.

One of the many amazing things about Erek that I love is he can never just buy a card, he always makes one. It is usually a collage of photos and a sweet poem. He is pretty good at making up poems and that kind of stuff. They always make me laugh but melts my heart at the same time. For every Birthday, Anniversary and Valentines he makes them. He is so creative! Not me, I buy the card. Here is this years Valentines card....

I always tell him he should send them to Halmark, but they are usually just something funny that only we will laugh at. But he could make millions!

Happy Valentines Day to all of you!
WE LOVE YOU!

SIX

Logan turned SIX this past week! WOW is he getting big or what. We celebrated with family last Sunday during the Superbowl party. He was a very luckily guy to get so many cool presents.

He asked for an Ice cream cake for his birthday. I've been wanting to make one because I heard it is actually quite easy. So I did, it turned out very well. It is just a little harder to frost when it is melting on you.

We always go out to dinner for each of our birthdays. Logan requested going to a buffet. So we went to Golden Corral. Grandma, Grandpa, Josh and Annie all came along. It was really fun. Logan loves the idea of picking so many different foods and not having to worry about finishing all of them. But of course their very favorite part would be the desert bar.

Erek likes to push the limits of gravity and see how high he can build the kids ice cream cones.

For Logan's big present from us he wanted a Skateboard. So after school we all took a family field trip to Zumiez at the mall. He picked it all out, the board, wheels, trucks and everything. I had to laugh it is so 80's don't you think? He loves it though and that's what matters. He thought it was really cool to have the guy build it just for him.

Quite often I find random pictures like this on my camera, when Logan gets a hold of it. He loves to be silly. Here is a few fun facts about Logan
1. Favorite food: The colorful pasta noodles (now that is random)
2. Lest favorite food: Milk and Tacos
3. Color: Orange
4. Favorite candy: Hot Tamales
5. Best friends: Jake, Drew and Jerrod
6. Favorite things to do with Dad: Skatepark and "robot"
Favorite things to do with Mom: Board games and read
Favorite things to do with Jake: PS3 and play outside
Favorite things to do with Isabella: play outside and color
