Blue Lake is a 24th of July family tradition. It is the most anticipated camping trip of the year. Erek asked my dad how long he had been coming up here, and he said that is was probably back in 1978 that he first came up here. I remember coming up every year as a child and it is so fun to bring my kids up here to and see them love it just as I did. It isn't just an Oviatt tradition it has been a Neighborhood Tradition. Coming up with the Lucas's and Lanes, and each year it just gets bigger and bigger.
Blue Lake is up Ephraim Canyon, its just all open land where you can camp anywhere you want to there is plenty of room for everybody. The land has millions of trails to explore and amazing views everywhere. We love it up here. This year we were able to go for 4 days, we were so dirty but the time we went home but it was still too short.

We always make sure to get in a little fishing and up there it is so easy to catch fish. It is great for kids cause they don't get bored waiting around to long. Erek was showing Izzy the fish and she had to touch the eye of course. But she thought it was pretty cool.

Up there you can expect a rain storm daily. They come up really quick, but most don't stay around long. On Friday just maybe 20 minutes after Erek and the boys left on a Mountain bike ride, it down pored pretty good. Luckily, Jeremy's family were out on ATV's and brought my poor soaked boys back to camp. Of course they still had to play in the mud.

Rock Rolling.... It's a guy thing. They love to roll the biggest rocks down off cliffs to see if the rock will knock over dead trees or break on other rocks. They spent about 20 minutes digging out that rock but it was cool to see it roll and bounce hundred of yards down.

We went on a different trail this year to explore some thing new. That's how we found this really cool water fall. It was so fun to stop and play in the water. It was really cool to climb underneath it.

This is how Izzy enjoyed the the ride. She slept for the first part of the ride in the back of the jeep.

Me driving through the mud.

The boys being silly and their cousin Ellie.

Izzy loves the 4 wheelers. She keep telling dad how to turn it on.
