Jaycob

Jaycob just had his Ninth birthday, how did he get so old? We aren't counting in dog years, right? No it's true, he is nine years old. And I haven't aged a day since he was born, strange!?!

I am so proud of my big boy. He has grown so much over this last year. It is really cool to see him mature and see how much he wants to help us. He is so much fun and such a important and special part of our family.
As a family we all went to dinner at Ruth's Dinner, what a fun night for us all. The weather was perfect outside and we ate out on the patio. The food was very yummy. The kids favorite part was when they ordered root beer floats and they got their own bottle of root beer. They were being so silly, we could have just ordered the root beer and they would have been fine, because we had to keep reminding them that they had ice cream too.

For Jaycob's birthday we invited his friend Sam over after school. I took the boys to the Nickel-Cade. They had a blast, they blew through those nickels pretty fast. In the end they had won over 600 tickets to cash in, which was fun for them all.

After the Nickel-Cade, we just played at our house riding bikes, scooters and running around the rest of the afternoon. We ordered pizza for dinner. That night, we planned on watching a movie outside drive in style. While we were setting up everything, Erek had some of Bella's dance music cranked up and it was like a dance party out there. It was so funny to watch the 3 "way too cool" boys dance around thinking no one was watching, when really Erek has is all on video. It is pretty funny, but it is like 10 minutes long so I can't upload it on the blog but I'm sure it will come in handy as some good blackmail one day.
When it was dark enough we started the movie "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," that Jaycob got for his birthday. He also got a new Helmet, some clothes, more Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, and a video game. He had a super fun birthday.

On Sunday we celebrated His Birthday with my family. I made him a mountain bike cake, it is just made out of chocolate. It was so easy to make and it looked awesome. He was really excited for it. I also put in a picture of my very cute and very pregnant sister Julie. She is having twins and is so big I just can't believe it. In this picture she was 35 weeks, 36 was her goal and she has made it now. She is being induced next week, I can't wait to see these beautiful babies. I'm so excited for her. And no birthday is complete with out Logan making a mess of himself with frosting.

School

School Days
School has started up again. Logan is starting 1st grade and Jaycob is now in 3rd grade. They were pretty bummed that summer was over and that school was starting again. But Deep down we knew they were excited to get back and see old friends again.
Isabella wear her backpack that morning, she wished so bad that she was going to school too. It was a long day for her at home with no brothers to play with, but I had a great time playing with her. She is my little buddy.

Ending

I have been such a slacker at my blog lately but it has been on my mind for far too long. So I will finally post what we have been up to. So the end of Summer is here and we spent it having some great family time before school started up again.
We went To the Taylorsville Pool. The kids love it there! Jaycob loves the water slide and he even jumped off the diving board. Not just the little 3 foot of the water diving board but also the big 10 foot high one. He did awesome! He was scared but he loved it and wanted to go again and again. Logan tried the water slide again this time, he had fun but it scares him to go under the water at the end so he only did it a couple of times. Bella, just loves to be out swimming and playing in the little kids side. It was fun for us all.

The next day, we all got up early and drove down to Thanksgiving Point to watch the start of the Tour of Utah cycling race. Erek is super big into cycling these days and really wanted to see one of the legs of the race. He would love to compete in a cycling race, hopefully next year he will sign up for one. We got there really early when there wasn't much spectators there but just the sponsors and the race teams. It was really cool to see some of the riders and we just kind of hung around until the race started. Bella danced and the boys had us all playing tag.
It was pretty cool being at the race, it is actually a really be deal, bigger then I had imagined. There was over 135 riders in the race and most all were sponsored by some team. There were some famous riders in it like Levi Leipheimer (he road in the Tour de France on Lance Armstrong's team). So Erek was excited to see him, and Levi actually ended up winning the Tour of Utah. Once that was over, we went to breakfast at Village Inn.

Later, that week I met up with my 2 best friends Denice and Britney and their kids at the Living Planet Aquarium. It was really fun to see them again and let the kids hang out. The boys love playing with TJ and Gage. This was our first time at the new Aquarium sight, Denice and Brit were a little let down thinking it was small but I think it was way better then when it was at the Gateway. Much bigger and much more to see. The kids loved seeing the Sting Ray and touching it as is swam by. It was also fun to see the penguins, they are so cute as the swim by. Watching them feed the penguins was cool but way too many people squished into such a small space that after a minute or too I was done. But it was a really fun afternoon and I can't wait for them to build the new Aquarium, now that will be really fun to go see.

Finally, for the last Saturday night before school started we had our own drive in movie. We have been wanting to do this all summer long but never did, since we did it this night we have done it again and plan on doing it again a couple time before the it is too cold out. We got an old sheet and hung it from the deck, we dragged out all our pillows and blankets, bean bag, and foam pads to make the ground nice and soft. My dad had a projector TV that we hooked up to the computer and Erek also hooked up his old stereo speakers. We popped some popcorn and got lots of treats and drinks. It was awesome. The kids picked Return to Witch Mountain to watch. It was such a blast to have our own little drive in movie.

We had a wonderful summer this year, we had so many fun adventures that we will never forget. So sad it is ending and we have to go back to the busy lives of school. But then again we can always look forward to next summer, right?

Bird

Last weekend Erek and I went away for a much needed relaxing vacation. We celebrated our 11th Wedding Anniversary! We had so much fun. We went up to the Snowbird Resort. Neither of us have really been there and it was so beautiful up the canyon. We left the Kids with my parents and headed up there Friday night. That evening we wondered around to see the place and had dinner. On Saturday, we headed up to Alta for a mountain bike ride, we were told the Snowbirds Mountains were "too Steep and Rocky" to ride. (Which we found out later that it wasn't really that bad). But we found a fun trail at Alta and rode for a little over an hour. It was a hard ride up but really fun coming down, I like the down hill much better then the up.
That afternoon, we went to ride the ZipRider - after waiting an hour and half. We also rode the chair lift up the mountain to the Tunnel at the top, and rode the mechanical bull. We didn't have the camera with us so we were kinda bummed about that but it was really fun. We got cleaned up and went to dinner at the Steak Pit, a very expensive restaurant up there, but it was so good. After dinner we rode the Tram up to the summit at 11,000 feet. It was high up and so beautiful as the sun was starting to set in the distance. On Sunday morning, after we checked out we headed over to a Sunday Brunch at one of the restaurants in the Cliff Lodge. It was a fancy place and tons of amazing food, but honestly I didn't eat $26 worth of food.
We had a great time and can't wait til we can get away again. I love you sweetie and am so happy that you are with me on this journey in Life. Happy Anniversary!
